Ford FE Expansion Header Tank Kit

OE Spec expansion tanks have been re-engineered to visually replicate the original Ford FE brass expansion tanks fitted to Galaxies and Thunderbirds in the early to mid 60’s whilst using modern manufacturing methods and materials to far exceed the quality and longevity of the original tanks.

Often there are installations that our standard tanks cannot satisfy.  That can be custom radiator cap locations, different engine families or situations where clearance to ancillaries needs to be fine tuned.  For these instances we offer our tank in unassembled kit format.

This kit contains all the parts required to assemble a standard style tank.  The tank can also be built as a Cobra style tank with the top outlet reversed.  (Note that the brackets  supplied will place the tank at a standard height, and would need modifying to lower the tank).

Tech Specs

The main tank body, inner level plate, inlet and outlet are made from 1.2mm (16 gauge) 304L stainless steel.  The inlet manifold flange is machined from 10mm (3/8″) stainless steel with the larger 63mm (2.5″) thermostat recess for improved flow.

The bracket thickness has been upgraded to 2mm (12 gauge) stainless steel from the original 1.2mm mild steel, to prevent any movement leading to hairline cracks developing.
